Where to celebrate Valentine's Day

To all the couples, throuples, singles, or galentines.... are you interested in ways to celebrate the festival of love? Whether or not you're in the mood for romance, Monnier has found some ideas for you to make it a night to remember.

Mood #1: a night of love

To escape the daily grind and spice up your soirée, why don't you and your partner spend the night at a hotel? Since we've already introduced you to the Hôtel des Deux Gares (10th arrondissement), where we shot our Christmas campaign, why not try another great spot? Our current favourite is the Hôtel Grand Amour (also in the 10th) which served as the backdrop for the 2020 short film #FETELAMOUR by French charity AIDES, to raise awareness of the fight against HIV and AIDS.

Mood #2: a gastronomic date

If to you dating and romance is all about wining and dining, then... dinner is served.

For those looking for simple, affordable cuisine and generous portions, we recommend somewhere Italian - which never disappoints - like the Libertino (10th arrondissement).

For the more adventurous among you, there is the new restaurant La Plume, whose stunning décor and panoramic views of Paris are sure to impress your loved one. The restaurant, serving Franco-Japanese cuisine, is perched above the Hôtel Madame Rêve (in the 1st arrondissement, close to Place des Victoires) and opened at the end of November!

Mood #3: an evening to remember

When we think Parisian show, we think Moulin Rouge! Impress and amaze your date with dinner and a show, surrounded by rhinestones, sequins, feathers and frills at the "Féerie" review. Perfect for making an impression.

For those who prefer a more humorous touch, we highly recommend the Cabaret Madame Arthur. You can just watch the show or you can dine there, but one thing is for sure: the creatures of the cabaret will make your heart melt with their unique and surprising spectacle (Madame Arthur Dévore la Saint Valentin - Madame Arthur Devours Valentine's Day).

Mood #4: a magic potion

First date? Galentines drink? Need alcohol to survive yet another Valentine's Day you don't feel like celebrating? There's no shortage of Parisian bars to conjure you up some delicious cocktails.

For a relaxed but stylish drink, head to the Aimer Paris bar (116 Boulevard de Ménilmontant) where you'll be spoilt for choice. And if you're a foodie, why not head to Les Commères in South Pigalle (31 rue Victor Massé) where you can enjoy your cocktail with a delicious pâtisserie, with their Saint-Honoré, lemon meringue pie, chocolate dessert, and more.

And the last location we recommend (but certainly not the least): La Maddalena in the Marais, a pop-up bar that opened last month. While the cocktails and savoury menu make our mouths water, it's the décor and its vibrant artistic works - notably by Mathias Bensimon - that make it the hippest place to be right now!

Mood #5: rom-com

For those who fancy an evening of Netflix (& chill), a romantic comedy is the only way to go. Of course, whatever your choice of streaming platform, you're sure to be spoiled for choice: The Proposal on Disney +, Breakfast at Tiffany's with OCS, A Star Is Born on Netflix or Sex and the City (the movie) with Amazon Prime Video…
