With Palm Angels, it’s time to head for the LA sunshine. It all started in 2014, when Francesco Ragazzi, then artistic director of Maison Moncler, published a book of black and white photographs that takes a deep dive into skate culture, entitled Palm Angels. A year later, the multidisciplinary artist, who expresses himself through fashion and photography, launched his ready-to-wear label of the same name. Determined to bring together luxury and urban fashion, Francesco Ragazzi began to create pieces that focused on a skateboarding aesthetic, ultra-popular in the City of Angels, and that appeal to cool kids on the streets. He describes Palm Angels as the perfect blend of the beauty of an LA sunset and that minimalist Californian style, and his vision has widespread appeal. The gothic lettering logo on the collar of a plain tee, flames devouring a checkerboard flannel shirt, baggy jeans and a beanie on the head... this is the Palm Angels style. With Palm Angels ready-to-wear boasting big names like Rihanna, A$AP Rocky and Gigi Hadid among its fans, it's time to take a look at its accessories. The Crash bag, with its quirky, slanted shape, is available in a bandana version, as well as in faded denim, with neon faux fur edging or with a shoulder strap in colourful and playful beads. Palm Angels' other flagship bag is the Palm Beach: its wave-shaped flap is adorned with a golden palm tree that almost smells of sunshine... impossible to resist. Footwear-wise, the brand offers men's boots called Desert, as well as a variety of sneakers, such as the University, a delightfully retro design, whose '80s style is an ode to freedom and the American dream. A cornerstone of the Palm Angels universe, designer hats, beanies and bucket hats bring that timeless touch of California cool.
